An aircraft flying over a crowded southern California coastline unexpectedly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a row of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Footage posted online show the helicopter beginning to twirl over the shoreline then descending in the direction of the border of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five individuals were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Information on their wounds were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
The department indicated the helicopter was associated with an yearly “Cars N Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for Sunday.
