Liverpool's Star Offers Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the group of players following the controversy from his televised remarks.

What Happened

The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and stating his connection to the head coach had broken down.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”

Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the player.

The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.

Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Their results have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. Jones believes the outburst were not intended to harm the team.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
