The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
